Apparently, the upcoming serial-killer story arc that will unwind over the remainder of the CBS hit's eighth season is one of those times. TVGuide.com has learned exclusively that Numb3rs star Alimi Ballard and former NFL journeyman Matthew Willig have been cast as two recurring NCIS agents who join our regular team in the hunt for a psychopath called the Port-to-Port Killer. Willig plays Special Agent Simon Cade, a hulking but friendly federal agent with a photographic memory. But he's not all brawn: He has an Ivy League education to go along with his intimidating presence. Ballard plays Special Agent Gayne Levin, a weathered, well-traveled federal agent who's just happy to be back in Washington. Both men are members of the team led by the recently introduced E.J. Barrett (guest star Sarah Jane Morris). And even though the trio is ready to pitch in on the case, don't be surprised if Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly) & Co. initially have some trouble sharing the squad room. The Port-to-Port Killer will be introduced in the April 5 episode, "Two-Faced." Ballard and Willig kick off their multi-episode run the following week in an episode titled "Dead Reflection." Willig, 42, played offensive tackle for several National Football League teams. He's appeared on such TV shows as Dexter, Chuck and My Name Is Earl. Besides his work as David Sinclair on Numb3rs, Ballard, 33, has also appeared on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and alongside NCIS' Weatherly on Dark Angel and the soap opera Loving. NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS. Are you excited to see the new team members? Alimi Ballard e Matthew Willig.. Special Agent Gayne Levin e Special Agent Simon Cade... Saranno introdotti in questo episodio. -- - Alimi Ballard su twitter:-- - Da TvLine:Ohhh articolo da TvLine: QUOTE NCIS First Look: The New Team Moves In!If looks could kill… well, NCIS might not need the upcoming Port-to-Port serial killer storyline, based on these photos we’ve got of Gibbs, DiNozzo and Ziva staring down the “new team” moving into their squad room. Thus far, fans of TV’s No. 1 scripted series have only met Special Agent EJ Barrett, played by Sarah Jone Morris — and she alone has irked Ziva et al (though mostly Ziva!) with her penchant for eavesdropping and butting in on conversations. But in the April 12 episode, titled “Dead Reflection,” the “home team” will meet two new visitors — Special Agents Gayne Levin (played by Numb3rs‘ Alimi Ballard) and Simon Cade (former NFL player Matthew Willig) — when EJ’s team is reconvened to help with the vexing and deadly Port-to-Port killer case that will fuel this season’s final thrust of episodes. Word is, the “P2P” killer will get his licks in, felling an NCIS agent (or more), as the CBS drama’s May 17 season-ender nears. --- - Da EW:QUOTE MATTHEW WILLIG ON HIS ADDITION TO ‘NCIS’: ‘JEALOUSY’ WILL BE FELT WHEN NEW AGENTS ARRIVE
The power struggle between E.J. and Gibbs is about to hit new heights on NCIS — about 6-foot 8-inches to be exact.
Former NFL player Matthew Willig debuts (along with fellow newbie Alimi Ballard) on Tuesday’s episode as agent Simon Cade, an Ivy Leaguer with a brain that’s just as intimidating as his towering presence. Cade joins the NCIS team to help with the Port-to-Port killer case. Between his character’s photographic memory and 160 IQ, you’d think he’d be a dream addition to the team, right? Not so much, says Willig.
“The power struggle is there for who’s in charge and who’s going to take over the case. And then to have a couple of other people and EJ’s team come in to fully attack the case makes it even harder for the regulars to handle,” Willig teases. “As the episodes go on and the team gathers and the plot intensifies, there’s definitely a feeling of ‘Wait, what’s going on? Are these guys are stealing our thunder?’… There’s that jealousy thing that starts to happen as the case unfolds.”
Not that Willig or Ballard’s characters are to blame. In fact, the newest additions, and one member of our favorite team, get off on the wrong foot to say the least. “[Dinozzo and Cade] have a fun and interesting opening scene. There are some items that sort of give away how big I am, and so there’s a little bit of comedy that goes on there. When I come in, he’s sort of fooling around with my clothing that kind of give away how big I’ll be. It’s all in typical [Dinozzo] fashion,” Willig says, laughing.
But before you start to put the recurring characters in the “Do not like because they’re new” pile, Willig says fans might be surprised at the dynamic between Cade and his partner. “We’ve traveled around the world and become buds. We watch each other’s back. We have that team aspect,” he says. Hmm…sound familiar? traduzioneEdited by Alyss.. - 20/4/2011, 18:08
