Cote de Pablo, the highest paid Chilean actress on American TV, has just won an ALMA Award, in the glamorous ceremony that was held on Saturday in Santa Monica.

The daughter of María Olga Fernández was named best actress for NCIS, the series that recently moved to second place in the popularity of American TV, according to a survey by Q Score. “I am happy about this award because it is the recognition of a woman who, since childhood, fought against all odds to study what she wanted… and later to work on what she is passionate about,” her mother, a former TV host, told “La Segunda”.

“Seeing her success today, after all those efforts, from getting up at 5 a.m. to go classes across town in Miami, later her stay in New York where she worked as a waitress and attended auditions; this is a reward for so much sacrifice.” María Olga said that she has not been able to talk to her daughter because yesterday she went with the cast of NCIS to film in the desert. She only received a photo that Cote sent the same night of the awards via email. “Because of these chances in life, two of her cousins arrived in Los Angeles the same day and she had tickets for them so that they were able to accompany her to the ceremony. They say that they shouted and clapped a lot”, she says with a laugh.

The award she dedicated on stage to the victims of the plane crash in Juan Fernández. The Chilean has been working for 6 years on what is one of the most-watched series in the US and has renewed a million dollar contract for two more years. Right now her manager is Catherine Olim, one of the most respected publicists in North America, who was responsible for 15 years of success for Nicole Kidman.
